So much for holiday plans. Everyone was meeting at my mom's house for a BBQ. At 6am I got a cal that she tested positive for covid. I hate this disease! I'll be spending a week or more checking up on her, she's in her 80's.Fortunately, I live next door to her. I have to guard against getting this new variance, it could kill me dead. I got the omicron even with full vax and boosts.
I've been enjoying the air-conditioning of my cousin's house, while he is in Georgia. He kind of got stuck there for recuperation, after they discovered FOUR different infections in his legs, and had to do surgery to remove one of them from his leg. Now he's getting antibiotic infusions while staying at his daughter's house. He'll be back in late August or early September, so I get free use of his house (and food stockpile) while he's gone. Shelf-stable 1% milk that is one year past it's due-date is still okay, right? ...

Jeebus, don't wish your life away, bro. You only have so many Junes. Those are cool. All my ole LAN and UT sites are down now. Fortnite killed UT4. (See, May of 2014) Actually, now that I think of it one of my old flightsim sites is still up, though who knows for how long. Two of the people most responsible for it passed away in the last couple years. Someone must be. (Flightsim appeals to an older-skewed demographic.)
It's brutal how much of the old content has just vanished. Entire tech review sites, forum communities. Really hate the centralization of the web's social aspect? Which one? Guess I'm an old fogey because I'm pretty into flight sim. Dunno if you've played MSFS2020 but it's pretty solid and getting better all the time.
Agreed. IMO FS20 was a dog at first but holy cow they put their backs into it and made it wunderbar. FS2024 announced a few days ago. Activity/Mission centric, apparently. Still no Project Corona, though. And now stay tuned for the second half of June 2023: Teh Odyssey.
