Of course not. Nobody lives in a vacuum. Does that mean that I get to pin the outcome of my actions on some big conspiracy? I'd like to know exactly how the system fucked mistawiskas.

Sure. mistawiskas knows a lot of shit. I just can't stand his posts anymore, which, admittedly, is my own problem.

This shit gets tiresome after a while....

You say potato, I say puh-pah-toe. Difference being you accept bullshit it and I don't. That doesn't make me a conspiracy theorist at all.
In bringing up years lived in this bullshit system that you yourself admit exists, I was pointing out that our two perspectives are from different vantage points:
your's: from looking to the future and speculating
mine: from comparing now to the past

Get yourself from where you're at in life now to where you are in your sixth decade and then you'll have a better grasp of the big picture. You've only just begun
the journey. Get to 54 and you can judge me, until then, you can only speculate on how you'll do. that's what I was getting at in response to the rather derogatory way you said what you did.
Calling bullshit on the system society operates under does not equate to not accepting my lot in life. Just because I freely criticize a society that is now built on chump-or-be-chumped, and point out a scam when I see one, doesn't label me a conspiracy theorist. It does however, meet up with name calling and denial by those that are too invested
in continuing the unsustainable system that exists now.
I will continue to report on the shit I see. Mostly to prove that it isn't a conspiracy theory, it is indeed fact. You all continue being whatever it is you want to be. in 20-30 years you too, get to accept your lots in life.

^^^ And I agree with a lot of that too. But even chess is a game of "chumped-or-be-chumped". Every game has winners and losers. Our current system sucks, but there are ways to win. At least thus far. I predict hard times ahead, but those who've moved the right pieces the right way will thrive. It's been the same since time began.

And for the record, I personally don't validate or invalidate someone's wisdom by the number of times they've been around the sun. I've seen wise children and old fools, with experience folks just have better odds of having good answers.

No? What about the younger trying to relate feeling superior by making three decisions in life that turned out good to an elders 60 decisions that only 80% turned out good? Would you call that naivety or just plain arrogance of youth? This is the only reason I bring up age.....period. We're only here for a really short time, too short to play a game of any kind.
Especially when possessing the trophy won't make you feel as good as a person thought it would.

And what exactly is anyone else contributing? And if you'd actually read what's posted you may see something different.

It's a truism that is actually true, that the older you get, the more you realize that:

A.) ...the stuff you used to scoff at older folks for believing was actually right. :)

B.) ...you know far less than you thought you knew. :)

Life is a journey, going from knowing nothing and thinking you know everything, to knowing much more and realizing that you hardly know anything. :D

Look through my posts and you'll see I have as much disdain for the system as yourself. I don't yell "conspiracy!" every 5 minutes, though.

The posts from you I quoted show otherwise. You don't seem to have anything to add to the conversation besides "conspiracy!"

You seem to complain an awful lot about the system for somebody who claims to be happy living outside of it. Like you're bitter or something.

You're a prophet! We're all blind to the truth! Blah, blah, blah....

If you're gonna claim that what you spout is fact, you better come up with some evidence to back it up. Otherwise, it's all just speculation. But go ahead and keep calling me names.

    Please quote the relevant post.

Right. You're not being arrogant at all, either.

Anyway... I never said that the system's not fucked up, or that corrupt people don't exist. My contention is that sometimes shit happens as a result of greed, selfishness, and ignorance, as opposed to malice.

BTW, when have I claimed to know everything?

This is pretty ridiculous. Everyone is constantly learning and constantly thinking how much wiser they are than those younger than them. But the reality of it is that you're still just as egocentric and cocky as you were when you were younger. You just think you have more ground to stand on because you've lived longer. For some people this is true. But discrediting the opinion of someone because they're young is a mistake.

About the time a person hits 30 I think they've pretty much got things figured out. They've gotten enough fists in the face, pissed in the wind enough times, etc. But there are some people that NEVER figure things out. They just keep whipping out that pecker and wondering why their legs are constantly getting wet. And then there's another group of people who figure things out and then revert, either through arrogance, or ignorance, or insanity, or dementia, or a combination of two or more.

This is why I personally think there's a Goldilocks period for most people. Take doctors for example. You don't want some young kid fresh out of med school, but at the same time you don't want some old codger who was a hell of a physician during the civil war.

Just the response I'd expect from a youngster! ;) Where did I put my asbestos undies?
Considering that the last veteran from WW-I just died recently, I don't think you'll find a Civil War physician that isn't pushing up daisies!

I think age mostly just makes you cranky, not wise. I also don't think pointing out obvious shit is worth the effort in even posting. O noes the government runs poorly. The US killed a terrorist so there might be a risk of more terrorism! Excellent powers of deduction, you must be a scholar.

    whelp

    English

Old English hwelp 'pup, wolf cub', from Proto-Germanic *hwelpaz (compare Dutch welp, obsolete German Welf, Danish hvalp), from pre-Germanic *kʷelbos, from Proto-Indo-European *gʷelbhos (compare Old Church Slavonic жрѣбѧ (žrěbę) 'foal', Latin vulva, bolva, volba 'womb', Ancient Greek βρέφος (bréphos) 'fœtus, newborn', Hittite huēlpi 'overipe, fresh; newborn animal', Sanskrit उल्ब (úlba, úlva) 'womb').Noun
    whelp (plural whelps)

    1. the young of a mammal.
    2. an insolent youth. AKA: "lil" grasshoppah" :)
    3. one of several wooden strips to prevent wear on a windlass on a clipper-era ship.
    4. a tooth on a sprocket wheel (compare sprocket, def. 2; cog, def. 1)

Nothing was ever directed at you in the first place. That's why you were requested to "get over yourself". Read the black parts, and I'd like to ask that when you quote me, quote the whole sentence and not just whatever portion you can to justify your self centered crap. Being known of as a whelp is not a name calling, it is a thing. Do you also feel offended
    being called a person?
It's not all about you but if you wish to take the gloves off and get to it, I'll oblige. I see no need to be nice to anyone on here anymore.
