Impressive. Will It be available in the USA? I'm all for EV, but... Understanding the state of the electrical grid infrastructure that is currently implemented in the states, I worry about the potential overload too many EV's will place on it. https://arstechnica.com/cars/2018/0...n-the-grid-take-depends-on-your-neighborhood/
I think it'll start with Europe then California, and maybe the rest or select states later. I'm not sure of all the states, only California's going to get SOME. But who knows how many and if they'll actually deliver what they tested in the video. I should add, the way it's described, it sounds similar to the Jaguar Ipace I tested. But 1/2 the price. I'm sure it won't be nearly as sporty or stylish but it does have similar options and equipment, so I think this Kia / Kona EV would be a relative bargain. About the power grid stuff.. not sure if it'll help with anything, but Nissan has been talking about grid storage recently. Using the cars as batteries for the house or businesses. I'm sure the amount of power that will be added to the grid's load will be massive and will be a challenge forever. If they don't spend a ton of solar/wind I'm not sure how they could meet demand without using a lot more gas, coal, or nuclear.
